$6699each $803DOZEN EACH DOZEN A Mediterranean microclimate surrounds the Two Hands vineyards, forming the perfect conditions for growing and ripening the finest quality fruit, to be vinified into generously flavoured, full bodied, flagship Barossa Shiraz. Grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and vinified in a mix of open top fermenters, pumped over thrice daily during the peak of ferments, to extract colour and tannin. Juices remain a fortnight days on skins before free runs are drained and pressings returned. After a day of rest, batches are filled to barrel for completion of malolactic, racked off lees, tidied up and returned to oak for eighteen months, followed by minimal fining and an unfiltered bottling.

Deep red with black/ purple hues. Aromas are vibrant and focused, the characters are continually evolving. Notes of red currant and cherry and subtle lavender, then chocolate and char, hints of creme anglaise, followed by spice, earth and rosemary. Bella's Garden is full of rich red fruits, cloves and earthy notes, supported by fine tannins and elegant oak. Generosity of fruit remains focused as it tightens to a long balanced finish.

Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz established Two Hands with the aim of making the best possible Shiraz wines from fruit grown to good vineyards. Their intention was and still is to show the diversity of Australian Shiraz by highlighting regional characteristics and allowing the fruit to be the primary feature of the final wine. By working closely with growers and focusing on small batch handling, Two Hands are able to identify parcels of old Barossa vineyard Shiraz which can be assembled into an exceptional wine of salient varietal definition.

$3099each $371DOZEN EACH DOZEN Gnarly Dudes is fashioned from fruit picked off mature sites in Barossa Valley’s western ranges. Individual parcels of Shiraz from distinguished Barossa vineyards are separately fermented in a mix of three, five, seven and ten tonnes open top vessels over the course of a fortnight, pumped over three times daily. Pressings are combined with the free run and settled for several days before filling to oak for completion of malolactic and several rackings. Matured in in aselection of seasoned and new French and American oak barrels, puncheons and hogsheads for a year, batches are kept separate until assemblage.

Bright crimson, vibrant purple hues. Black cherry nose, blackberries and fresh lavender, dark chocolate pastry crusts. Vibrant palate, bright berry notes dance across the palate, medium to full bodied, richness of fruit balanced by bright refreshing acidity, tannins are prominent but seamless, red licorice finish, lavender and dark chocolate, creamy textures from lees contact.

A number of individual vineyard parcels are crushed into a mix of three and five, seven and ten tonnes open top vessels. Ferments are pumped over thrice daily throughout the peak of activity to extract optimal colour, flavours and tannin. Batches are pressed, the free runs and pressings are all returned and racked to barrel for completion of malolactic. Components are matured eighteen months in a combination of seasoned and new French oak puncheons and hogsheads. All parts are kept separate and assembled just prior to bottling.

Deep dark red. Nose of spiced plum, blueberry pie with hits of musk stick, warm vanilla and pain grille. Full bodied palate with lashings of spices and plums, blueberry jam and milk chocolate. Tannins are round, bold and chewy then tighten through the finish. Hedonistic in style with complexing notes of mocha coffee beans, vanilla pod and clove. Incredibly long and persistant through the finish.

Tyrrell made a major contribution to the development of Heathcote as a world class winegrowing region. One of the earliest pioneers, they sowed the seeds and established the vines which launched the second gold rush into Heathcote Shiraz. Lunatiq is minimally handled to encourage the eloquence of terroir to speak, dark chocolate tannins support a mouthfilling palate of red currant flavours and piquant spice, followed by a lingering, well balanced finish, a titillatingly enigmatic fragrant mineral lift.

$3499each $419DOZEN EACH DOZEN Sourced from a block of superb vines planted to the highly prized, deep red Cambrian soils on the eastern slope of Mount Carmel range, thirty kilometres north of Heathcote township. The oldest blocks are picked and transported back to Hunter Valley for vinification. Three days of cold soak are followed by a fortnight of open ferments at 25C, gently pumped over to maximize flavour and colour without over extraction of tannin. Batches are filled to a selection of high quality, tight grain French oak barriques for completion of malolactic and a year's maturation, the best barrels are assembled into the finished wine.

Bright red/ purple in colour. A great lift of mulberry, plum fruit and brooding, spicy chocolate oak. The palate is rich and robust, dark plum and currant fruit flavours are framed and enhanced by layers of soft fruit tannin, a tight mineral texture whilst maintaining the finesse and elegance which defines Heathcote Shiraz.

Tyrrell's planted their Heathcote vineyard in 1994, on the ancient russet red Cambrian soil, at the foot of Mt Camel along the southern end of the Colbinabbin Range. This narrow strip with its unique topography, gives the wine its rich, yet refined flavours that typify Heathcote wines, especially Shiraz. The climate is warm, dry and reliable from year to year. Vines are relatively low yielding, producing grapes which are renowned for their ability to ripen to complete flavour development, yet still retain excellent levels of natural acidity and tranquil, fine grained tannins.

Spotting this potential some years ago, Bruce Tyrrell recognized the significance of the region for Shiraz very early on, placing a priority on locating and developing the best possible site for inclusion into the estate's portfolio. Tyrrell secured over eighty acres of prime land which today produces wines with an extreme weight of fruit. Parcels of Heathcote Shiraz are gently destemmed and separately vinified in a combination of open and closed fermenters, an inclusion of Viognier adds opulence and lift. Batches are matured two years in predominately French oak barriques, racked several times before assessing and determining the final assemblage.

Dense red/purple colour. A great lift of mulberry and plum fruit to the bouquet, soft, integrated, spicy, chocolate oak. The palate is rich and robust whilst maintaining the finesse of Heathcote. The intense, berry fruit flavours, richness and mouthfilling appeal makes it a fine accompaniment to lamb, beef and game.
