Antonio Carpene, scientist and chemist, was a visionary who introduced Methode Champenoise to Italian viticulture. He established the first Italian School of Oenology and worked with the great biologists of his time, Robert Koch and Louis Pasteur, to drive innovations in the Italian winemaking industry. The passions and traditions have been handed down from father to son ever since.

The soils here are mineral rich and marine, they vary considerably from sandstone to alluvial clays, all share a providence for yielding the world's most toothsome sparkling wine. Grapes are encouraged to ripen fully, harvested late in the season and vinified to the local Conegliano Valdobbiadene method.
